Another year has passed, and from this blog's perspective, it has passed very quietly, since this is the only post for 2012!
One thing is for sure: Java ME has suffered a rousing defeat at the hands of Android. Too bad for Oracle, since when they acquired Sun, I'm sure they were counting on some lawsuit money from Google, to the tune of billions of USD.
In the meantime, there's Windows Phone, which if you are fluent in the XAML/C# tongue, provides a very familiar environment for building apps. MVVM anyone? Yes, Please!! Way way less tedious than building a UI and binding it to a model in Android. Oh wait, Android has no model binding, bummer.
The problem with WP platform is Microsoft took the same lame-ass approach as did Apple, so much for encouraging developers to build apps. What they did encourage is a huge market of root hacks and side-loading bullshit. At least the SDK is free....
